However, your foot is no longer held in place as tightly by the boot, so it will move around as the inside sock will slide around against the outside sock (if you know what I mean!).
Players may wear two pairs of socks as the double layer may help to prevent blisters. Simply take a second pair of socks and wear it over your shin guard and first pair of socks. The second pair of socks must be the right size to both accommodate the first layer and not be too large that it slides.

The way double socks work is by having the two sock layers moving relative to each other so they must be separate layers. Toe-socks such as Injinji can be thought of as a form of double sock system for interdigital areas and may theoretically reduce the incidence of interdigital blisters. That is assuming the COF remains sufficiently low.
